This is a trail race and will be on a combination of trails in beautiful York River State Park. Five miles of the course will be technical single track. About 3/4 mile on the road and the rest will be on dirt fire road trails.

The start and finish are at Lois Hornsby Middle School. Packet pick up will start around 6am and there will likely be early packet pick up Friday at The North Face Outlet at Premium Outlets. I will send out more info a couple of weeks before the race! No T-shirt size guaranteed after March 20th!

In 2021, this race was a FULL Marathon and I decided to try it as a half this year. Why? Why not? The course will still include the same final 2 miles from the marathon course (epic and tough!). Registration is limited to 150 registrants. The course will include single track trails, fire road type trails and a short road portion. Time limit for the race is 4.5 hours.

This race is at Freedom Park in Williamsburg, VA and starts at 6pm. The Start/Finish will be in the meadow parallel to the Botanical Garden area. The challenging course includes single track, fire road and paved trails all within the park. Rolling hills throughout. Keep in mind some of the trails are technical and have roots, twists and turns! Practice on mountain bike type singe track trails if available!

This race is slightly modeled after a race in Canada called the "Leftovers" race. In this race you will receive a medal (if you complete a minimum of a 7k) and shirt from a previously run Happy Cat Race. Could be any race, I have many shirts and medals accumulating in a spare bedroom in my house. You should smile and be happy with whatever you get, don't be a baby.

The trails are technical and rolling- and very fun! Exposed roots, bridges, ravines and fast sections can be found on the route in beautiful York River State Park. We will use the Backbone, Laurel Glen and Marl Ravine trails.

A new race for 2023! This is My First 50. There is an option for a 50k or 50 mile distance. Overall awards will ONLY be given to FIRST TIME 50k and 50 mile runners! You CAN enter if you have run these distances before, but you are not eligible for Overall or Masters awards.
